Jason has a turbulent time in Greek mythology. Once launched on the good ship Argo, he reaches the island of Lemnos, where the women had been so neglectful of Aphrodite that she gave them a particularly unpleasant body odour. Their husbands had fled to the arms of obliging Thracian concubines and been murdered for their desertion. The smell must have worn off by the time Jason arrived, as he fathered twins on the local queen, Hypsipile...
