Piotr Beczala's recital debut
impresses MARIA NOCKIN
On Saturday evening 28 April 2012, Polish tenor Piotr Beczala sang the first recital of his illustrious career at the Broad Stages in Santa Monica, California. It is a relatively new hall with excellent acoustics, comfortable seating and good sightlines. Best of all, it is equipped with super titles and we could see a translation of every piece the tenor sang. Accompanied by the well-known collaborative pianist Brian Zeger, Beczala opened with a rousing rendition of Di tu se fedele from Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera...
