at Derby Cathedral,

Derby Cathedral Choir has established a pattern of singing J S Bach's St John Passion every two years.
This year's performance (Derby Cathedral, Derby, UK, 6 April 2012) began with an alert, thoughtful account of the opening chorus, which set the tone for the whole, and was matched by the choir's singing in the final chorus. The performance was often at its best in the chorales, which conductor Peter Gould encouraged the choir to shape with firm, intelligent phrasing...
