The recorded Bach keyboard concertos have a standout place in the catalogues. A gamut of styles are represented, and in recent times the choice of Goldbergs and the concertos has reached epic numbers.
Here we have Concertos BWV 1053-1056 and BWV 1058 with forty-four-year old London-born pianist Nick Van Bloss and the English Chamber Orchestra directed by sixty-two-year-old opera conductor David Parry. This is aerated playing -- none of the quicksilver of Glenn Gould or the velvet counterpoint of Angela Hewitt (on Hyperion CDA67308 / CDA67607/8)...
