A Remembrance Concert in Clapham, attended by MICHAEL GRAUBART
For three years now, those of us who live near Clapham Common have had the good fortune to be able to enjoy a great variety of chamber music in the way chamber music should be enjoyed: in the relaxed and intimate setting of a small early-nineteenth-century church perched on the edge of the escarpment that drops down into the Thames valley. Performed by young artists of a quality that would grace any concert hall in the country, the Clapham Chamber Concerts at St Paul's Church, some nine or ten a year, are organized by two talented and enthusiastic local musicians, the pianist, conductor and animateur Jessica Maryon Davies and the violinist Amanda Lake, but have involved singers, woodwind players and even a dancer.
