These two American musicians -- tenor Stanley Wilson and pianist Malcolm Halliday -- have a strong affinity with this music of the 'British Romantics'.
In his short introduction, the tenor points out that his grandfather was born in Britain and consequently that he, the grandson, felt this affinity with these songs from the 'first moment'.
Frank Bridge (1879-1941)
Frank Bridge was born at the seaside town of Brighton, dying only a few miles away at Eastbourne, another seaside town where Debussy had completed La mer in 1905.
Bridge emerged as one of the outstanding composers of English songs with piano accompaniment...
