I first came across Vuyani Mlinde in 2006 singing in Grange Park Opera's production of Thaïs when his wonderfully dark-hued bass-baritone voice impressed greatly. Trained originally in South Africa, Mlinde went on to the Royal College of Music and was a member of Covent Garden's Jette Parker Young Artist Programme from 2007 to 2009.
