Of all his musical arts, Bach's greatest was Polyphony and, of that, his most ingenious work seemed to be for solo cello.
In 1702, the University of Leipzig asked Telemann to open a music school along the lines he had already instituted elsewhere, for instance, at Hamburg. In 1729 Bach similarly went to teach at Leipzig University and stayed there for thirteen years...
