Michail Lifits at London's Wigmore Hall delights BILL NEWMAN
To my mind, this [Keyboard Charitable Trust Prizewinners' Series Concert, Wigmore Hall, London UK, 1 March 2011] was one of the great piano recitals, performed with the stylist conception and élan of leading artists from the past and present generations who, in my long memory, caught the true essence of music's meaning from every desirable aspect.
Michail Lifits, born into a musical family in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), started playing the piano at five. Currently studying under Boris Petrushansky (Imola, Italy) and Bernd Goetzke (Hanover, Germany), numerous performances in Uzbekistan, Russia, Austria, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, USA and Ukraine merely represent 'the tip of the iceberg' for this twenty-nine-year-old, who is busy accepting every invitation possible...
