Dear readers,

I was shocked and appalled to read D Griffiths' pathetic attempts to field your (very few, as it's summer) questions while I was on holiday.

I wish to point out:

1. that over the past fortnight I was not 'secretly the fourth percussionist of the Danish Radio Orchestra', nor a nightclub singer going under the name of 'Dolores' nor 'breaking in to Waterstones at night shoving copies of her books further up the shelves'.
   
   Instead I was twiddling my toes in the Mediterranean and trying to decide which place in Crete to buy...
