Cedille Records is manifestly blessed with its women string performers: renowned violinists Rachel Barton Pine, the wonderful Jennifer Koh and the much sought after cellist Wendy Warner.
Ms Warner graduated at the Curtis Institute of Music and studied with Nell Novak from age six until joining Rostropovich at Curtis. In 1990 she took First Prize at the Fourth International Rostropovich Competition in Paris.
Distinguished Swedish cellist and adjudicator Frans Helmerson, speaking with The New York Times, said: 'I'm not sure I've ever before heard a young cellist with such potential. Everything that is basic to cello playing she already has, plus a natural stage presence that you rarely find....
